Using the App

Login to Lengo

To use Lengo you must be online the first time you login. This downloads the relevant frameworks to your app. View the Using Lengo Offline section to learn more about using it when offline.

To Login

  1. Ensure you have a WIFI or Data Connection to your device.
  2. Enter your registered email address and password.

Tour

When you log in successfully you will see a brief tour that introduces the app. Tap > or swipe to the left to move forwards. Tap SKIP to go straight to Lengo or DONE to finish.

How do I view a framework?

When you log in you will see a list of groups you are a member of.

Tap on your group to see a list of frameworks in that group.

Credits

How do I give myself a Credit?

  1. Tap on a granule.
  2. Tap on Self Credit.

  3. You are notified that it is successful.

You can also give yourself a Self Credit by:

  • Long press on your profile picture for 1 second.
  • Go to Give and scan in your Lengo NFC enabled card.

I’m an assessor why can’t I see the option to Self Credit or Get?

You do not need to self-credit or receive credits due to your role. Likewise, any peers of yours will also be assessors.

How do I give or get a Credit from someone else?

  1. Tap on a granule
  2. To give a credit tap Give.

    Alternatively, to receive a credit from another member tap Get.

  3. The Scan screen appears.

    Click your device's back button to view the previous screen.

Ways to give and get a credit

There are 3 ways to give and get a credit:

  1. Scanning a Lengo NFC Card
  2. Scanning a QR Code
  3. Entering in a 12-digit Code

A. Using a Lengo NFC enabled card

  1. Tap on the Scan Card button.

  2. The button will turn green to signify that the app is ready. See below if NFC is not switched on.

  3. Hold the card to the rear* of your device.

  4. You are notified that it was successful.

    screen image

  5. To scan another card, repeat the process.

*Most NFC devices have their NFC reader at the middle rear of their device. Some models will vary.

Switching on NFC

  1. You will be notified that NFC is Disabled if you try to scan a card and it is switched off.

  2. Tap OK
  3. In the Wireless & networks settings tap NFC.

B. Using a QR Code

  1. Tap the Scan QR Code button.

  2. The camera will open. The first time you do this, some devices may display an alert. Tap Allow.

  3. Move the phone to get the QR code in focus.

    Results work best when the card is on a surface in good light.

  4. You will see a notification that it was successful.

Using a 12-digit Code

  1. Tap the Enter Code button.

  2. Type in the code.

How do I find my Card Number & QR Code?

  1. Go the menu button.

  2. Your name and card number appear at the top of the menu.
  3. Choose My Card to view your Card Number and QR code.

Toggle

Expand or contract headings and granules by using the Toggle button.

This expands and contracts the behaviour headings.

Search / Filter

  1. Tap on the Search button.

  2. Type a keyword you would like to look up. Make sure you spell it correctly.

  3. The granules where the keyword appear will be listed.

You can only search for more than one word provided they are together when typed. If you can't see anything for that keyword, make sure it is spelled correctly or it is not in the framework.

How do I view Lengo on a website

  1. Tap on View on Web.

  2. The device browser opens. There is different functionality on the Lengo website than in the app.

  3. Login to www.lengo.it using your login information.

What can I do on the Website that I can’t do on the app?

The website allows further functionality including:

  • View your credit history including credits given and received
  • "Undo" a credit
  • Change your information
  • Download resources for granules
  • Exchange comments with others
  • View a list of other members
  • Download reports

Working offline

  • To use Lengo you must be online the first time you login.
  • This downloads the relevant frameworks to your app.
  • After that you can continue to use Lengo when offline.
  • If you log out and someone else logs in, that is fine if you log in on the same device later.
  • When you go online anything credited offline will be automatically synced along with any changes to the framework.
  • You are notified of credits that need synching when offline.

Troubleshooting

I do not see an option to Scan Card or QR Code

You will not see all 3 ways to give or get credits if:

  • Your device does not support NFC
  • If your device does not have a camera

I get the message 'App - Error Loading Data'

You may be offline trying to login for the first time.

  1. Go online and try again.
  2. Close the application and restart.See this article about different ways to close an app.

Lengo has unfortunately stopped

This is not a valid Lengo card

An attempt has been made to scan a card that is not recognised as a Lengo card. Ensure no other cards are being attempted to use.
