What's a group and a framework?

A group is another name for your organisation or special project. It contains any number of Frameworks in it. A framework is a collection of behaviour headings and granules.

How do I change to a different framework?

If you only have 2 or more frameworks.

  1. Choose the framework in the box on the right. Screen Image

If you have more than 1 group.

  1. Choose the dropdown next to the name of the current group (in this example 'Velocity').

  2. In the text area type the name of another group you belong to (in this example 'Imagine Education' has appeared as we started to type it)

  3. The new group is selected.

  4. Choose the framework in the box on the right.

Credits

How do I give myself a Credit?

  1. Navigate to the granule that you wish to Self Credit.
  2. Click the Self Credit area.

  3. You have Self Credited. The Credit number is increased.

How do I give a Credit to someone else?

The easiest way to give a credit to another member is to type in their name.

  1. This time we are getting a credit from someone else on our course. We call this a Peer Credit. Click the Peer Credit button.

  2. The Get & Give box opens.

  3. Select from the list of members in the framework.

    Screen Image

  4. You can select more people from the list. You can also type in their name to auto-complete. Click on the x next to their name to stop crediting them at that point.

  5. Click Give a Credit.

  6. An alert shows near the bottom of the screen that confirms you have given a credit to multiple credits.

  7. If you credit one person the alert displays that information.

How do I get a Credit from an Assessor?

A credit can be awarded from a peer or an assessor. There are 2 ways to get a credit; by card number or QR code.

Peer credit Assessor credit
Click the Peer credit button. Click the Assessor credit button.

I'm an assessor how else can I give a credit?

  1. In the framework you will only see one option to Give Credits. Click this button.

  2. The Give a Credit box appears.

  3. Type in the members name as before and click Give a Credit.

Use a Card Number

  1. Type in your assessor's number (that they give you with their permission of course). It doesn't matter if you use spaces or not.
  2. Click Get a Credit.
  3. The numbers of credits has increased.
  4. In this example, an assessor has given a Credit and now the number is increased.

Get a credit using a QR Code

  1. Click Scan a QR Code.
  2. The first time you use this, the browser will ask for permission to use the webcam. Click Allow.

  4. Hold the card steady in front of the webcam until it is scanned.

  5. The number of credits has increased.
  6. In this example, an assessor has given a Credit and now the number is increased.

I'm an assessor why can't I receive credits or give self or peer credits?

The assessor's role is to give credits, when appropriate, to learners so these options are not available to you.

Undo a Credit

There may be occasions when you need to remove a credit. This might be necessary when:

  • You have accidentally given one or more credits to someone by mistake incorrectly.
  • You may have credited the wrong granule.

You will only be able to undo a credit that you have awarded.

  1. Click on the Credit History button.
  2. Scroll to View All.

  3. You will see the credits awarded.

  4. Tick the checkboxes on the left to select the credit(s) you want to remove.
  5. Click the Undo Credits button.

  6. Click OK to undo the credits or Cancel to keep them as they are.

Activity & Notifications

Notifications

The Notification button lets you know when:

  • Someone is sharing their framework with you.
  • Someone has made a comment on your progress.
  • If there is a special announcement in the Community Section.
  1. You will see a red circle with a number in it. The number refers to the number of notifications you have.

  2. Click on the notifications icon (the bell) to view.

Credit History Notification

The Credit History button lets you know when someone has given you a credit. This is shown in a drop down list. The list will also display when you have given yourself a credit or given a credit to another member.

  1. You will see a red circle with a number in it. The number refers to the number of new credits you received.

Overall History

  1. Click on the Credit History button.
  2. Scroll down and click View All.

  3. You will see:
  • Who has given credits and to whom they were given.
  • Which granule was awarded the credit and when.
  • How the credit was given.

When a granule contains files or additional information the Resources button will be displayed.

How to add comments?

Comments are a way to attach evidence, notes or files to a granule. See the Sharing with Others section about using comments with other members.

  1. On a granule click on the Comments button. These are labelled with your name e.g. Ben's Comments.

  2. The Comments box appears.

  3. Add text in the My comment area. You can also select Choose Files to upload supporting files.
  4. Click Add Comment.

  5. The comment is published. It can be deleted by clicking on the small x next to the comment on the right.

  6. After the Comments box is closed the number of Comments increases.

Toggle and Search to view and find the things you need to see.

Toggle

To show just Behaviour Headings

  1. Click the toggle button Screen Image to expand and contract to view only behaviour headings.

  2. Click again to show all the Granules.

To show or hide one section at a time

  1. Click the Down arrow to minimise that section.

Use the filter to quickly show only granules with that keyword in it. A help button appears next to it this area to remind you if needed.

  1. Type in a word in the search area. The page only displays granules containing that word.

Ensure words are spelled correctly.

In this example there is a search for all granules that include the word 'materials'.

Download Reports - How can I see all my credits?

An individual learner can download a report containing information about their progress containing all granules and credits awarded.

  1. Above the footer of the framework page is an area to download a report. There are a number of formats that allow you to view this. Click on one.

  2. Your browser will ask if you wish to open or save the file. Click Open to view or Save then choose to open the file.
  3. Opening the file will show the number of credits received for the whole framework.

Member Information

Information about members is available on their profile page. See the section on viewing other members for details on finding other members in your framework.

Change my Information

  1. Select your name.

  2. From the Dropdown menu choose Settings.

    From the Profile page you can edit your Name, or add further information in the About Me section. Change your Profile image. Information can be added in the About Me section that will be displayed to others. If this is left blank when another member visits your profile they will see the message "This member has not added any profile information yet".

  3. Click on Settings. Here you can edit your Email Address and Password.

    To make a new password you must enter your current password. Ensure your password is strong, combine numbers with upper and lower case letters.

How do I find my Card Number & QR Code

You may wish to view your card information to allow others to credit you.

  1. Select your name.
  2. In the drop down menu you will see your code. Click View My Code.

  1. Click Members.

Sharing with Others

Share with someone

Sharing with other members allows them interact by:

  • View and make comments on a members progress
  • View credit history for their granules
  • Award credits directly

The diagram below shows how sharing works in a framework across different members with different roles.

View someone's comments (Assessor)

  1. Norman is an assessor. Assessors can view any member's progress. Click on the dropdown View a member's progress and choose a member.

  2. Norman is viewing the progress of Ben. He can now:

    • View Ben's Credit History for a granule.
    • Make a comment on a granule.
    • Award an assessor Credit.

An Assessor Credit can be given just by clicking on the Give Credit button without having to scan a card or use a QR code. The Self-Credit and Peer Credit buttons will not work.

View someone's comments (Peer)

Part 1

  1. In this example Ben is a learner.

    To view someone's progress, Ben must share his progress with selected members and they must then share theirs with him. Ben is viewing his own framework.

  2. Click on Sharing. The Share Progress box appears.
  3. Click on the green + icon next to a name to start sharing with them.

  4. Their name then appears in the column on the right. Click on the red x to move them back in order to stop sharing.

    In this example, Ben is now sharing with Holly and Manuela.

  5. Click Save & Close to save sharing.

Part 2

  1. Holly is viewing her framework. She's received a notification telling her that Ben has shared his framework with her.

  2. Holly can now view Ben's progress.

    Click on View a member's progress and choose Ben.

  3. Holly can now interact with Ben's progress in 3 ways:
    • View Ben's Credit History for a granule.
    • View Ben's comments on his work and add hers to it (see the comments section).
    • Award a Peer Credit (see the next step).
  4. Holly can award a Peer Credit without having to scan a card or use a QR code just by clicking on the peer icon button. The Self-Credit and Assessor Credit buttons will not work.

Part 3

  1. Holly now wants to let Ben interact with her progress. Holly clicks on Sharing.
  2. She will see the list of members that she can choose to share with.

    An asterisk (*) appears next to Ben's name to signify that he is sharing his progress with her however, his name does not appear on the right hand side. Holly is not sharing with Ben.

  3. Holly clicks on the green + symbol next to Ben's name.

  4. Click Save & Close.
  5. When Ben is logged in, he can now interact with Holly's progress.

  6. Meanwhile, Manuela has not decided to share back with Ben. Ben cannot interact with Manuela's progress. .She can still interact with his progress because he shared with her previously.

Make a comment on someone's progress

See the Sharing section how to share your progress and view others.

When you do this remember that comments are visible to the following:

  • The person you are sharing with.
  • Anyone that they have shared with.
  • Any Assessors.

In this example Holly is viewing Ben's progress.

  1. Holy goes to the granule that she wants to add a comment.
  2. Click on Comments. For a reminder about how to do it go back to the How to add Comments section.

  3. The Comment box appears.
  4. Add any text or files.
  5. Click Add Comment.

  7. Close the comment area and refresh the framework page to view the number of comments has increased.

  8. Click on the x next to a comment that you have written to remove it.

Community

Using the Community area

A group may have set up a community area. This is a place where resources can be placed, forums can be used to allow members to collaborate further.

  1. Below your profile information click on Community.

Creating content in the Community area

  1. Some sections may be locked so that only group admins can edit the content.

  2. Some areas are open so that users can contribute freely.

  3. On a discussion area that you can contribute to, select Add Topic.

  4. Enter a title and description. Then click Add Post.

  5. Your Post is added to the community.

My Firefox browser keeps asking to share my location. What should I do?

Click Show Location then Always Show Location. It is fine if you do not wish to share your location, click Never Show Location if you prefer.
